Collaboration with ETH Zürich Architecture Students
A Semester Project Revives Zurich's Sihlquai with a Tower Utilizing Iron Energy's Technology to Solve the Seasonal Energy Deficit.
NEWS

We're thrilled to share the incredible results from a recent collaboration with a talented group of architecture students from ETH Zürich! Their semester project, focusing on a property directly opposite the Letten power station on Sihlquai, perfectly leveraged Iron Energy AG's innovative storage solution to address a critical challenge: Zurich's "winter gap."
The site's rich history, once home to energy transmission towers, inspired the students to design a groundbreaking new tower. This structure, built upon the existing foundation, isn't just a replacement; it's a forward-thinking solution to store surplus energy generated in the summer - 900 MWh. Their design showcases how Iron Energy's technology can bridge the seasonal energy deficit for the entire Kreis 5 district!
At Iron Energy, we're passionate about fostering close ties with universities and providing real-world case studies for students. Witnessing such innovative and impactful results from these bright minds is truly inspiring!
